We’re always happy to help conferences with a mobile Conference App to use on their conferences.
Most of all when the conference is small or new. It just feels good to help people out. Especially when these people share the same interest.
For us that is Oracle in general and more specific APEX. We’re an APEX-only company.
So when Mirela Aredelean tapped my shoulder in June (at Kscope 2022 in Grapevine Texas) and asked us to help the new RoOUG ConTech conference, we were more than happy to help out. We started building the app and were able to publish the app to both stores: Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store.
Then “disaster” struck! Apple found the app to be “too much of a niche”. They did not expect a lot of downloads and blocked further publication. We had to come with a solution. And we did!
That is why you as an iOS user are now on this page. We created a PWA, which can be installed on your devices instead. To do this you need to do following steps (read before act 🤪 ):
- go to the PWA by pressing the image below
- Tap the link button (Save the link onto your homescreen)
- Tap the “Add to Home Screen” option
- You can now rename your bookmark
- The icon should display on your home-screen
